We visited site and assessed the situation. We ascertained that the cable was faulty and by digging a trial hole found that the 90 metre stretch of cable had been disconnected from the network some years earlier
We excavated a 90 metre trench (10 metres of which crossed a road) and then installed into it a new low voltage mains cable. We then tested all the house services laid by the builder to ensure that the cables were fit to be connected. Once this had been confirmed, we performed all the necessary jointing works to the cables including the live point of connection to the existing live main. Finally we reinstated the trench back to sand and tile tape level as required by the builder
All works were completed on time for the families to move in on Friday
